Experience


Mr. McDonald is an associate attorney who joined Gunderson Law Firm in September 2024 after passing the July 2024 Nevada Bar Exam. Mr. McDonald is a Florida Native with American and Canadian citizenship.

Mr. McDonald received his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law where he focused his studies on business law, environmental law, and trial advocacy. He was also a member of the Green Business Initiative student organization.

Mr. McDonald obtained valuable work experience as a law student. During his first law school summer, he worked in the Anchorage District Attorney’s Office in the Major Crimes Unit. For his second summer, he worked at Gunderson Law Firm as a summer associate.

Before law school, Mr. McDonald worked as a residential real estate agent in Celebration, Florida with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Fine Living.

Mr. McDonald graduated from Florida State University in 2019 where he majored in real estate and finance. During his time at FSU, Matthew belonged to the Securities Society and the FSU Club Field Hockey Team. Mr. McDonald’s time at Florida State University went beyond Tallahassee, Florida. He studied abroad in Tianjin, China at Tianjin Foreign Studies University and in Valencia, Spain at Florida State University’s Valencia Campus.

Matthew currently lives in Reno, Nevada with his wife Marte and rescue dog, Ivory. Matthew spends his free time playing golf, mountain biking, and skiing.
